tennisballs In addition to sealing the tile, I have heard there is now a stainproof grout. I think it might be a quartz product, but not certain.

strayerdarb Thanks! I will look into it. I don't know what color grout I will choose. That will be a decision to make a little later on. Maybe not having white grout will help.

tennisballs I think I'm going with cream colored grout for that reason

Heartwood Kitchens Since marble is a natural material it does need to be sealed regularly. I would ask at your local tile store what they would recommend for a sealer and how frequently it should be applied.

tennisballs did you ever find out what these backsplash tiles are? I love them. Do you know if sealers really prevent water stains...my biggest concern with marble backsplash.

tennisballs Have you had any problem with staining on the backsplash? Did you seal it, and if so, with what?

Build For Me Construction This project was quite some time ago and I cannot remember if the quartz was a particular brand. It was sourced from a local supplier in San Jose, California (don't remember which one...sorry). It is most likely not made by a major brand. We will often take customers to local dealers to pick out the countertops and there is usually no more than 3 or 4 slabs from the same batch. It is much less expensive to do it this way and you get a more unique finished product. This countertop is a smooth finish, so no texture or leather feel. I hope that helps. We have dozens of good local dealers in the San Jose area that source stone that are not branded.

tennisballs Love the backsplash. Is it marble or ceramic? Do you remember the name or brand or where you bought it? I live in SF so could go to the same place.

Dalia Kitchen Design The cabinets are located in a butler's pantry off of the main kitchen. I would suggest the marble back splash as it will create a more dramatic look. Also it will be easier to maintain spills on marble rather than on paint.

tennisballs Will there be much staining on the backsplash? I know it is high maintenance on counters but what about back splash?

inpdx If they are sealed, you'll be fine. Make sure the grout is sealed as well. Ours wasn't; not a good thing to discover after you've splashed coffee on it.

Judy M check the manufacturer web sites for specs on sizes or visit a big appliance store.

onthefence I like to use AJMadison for appliance comparison. They've got great filtering tools for sizes, capacities, etc.
