I don't know if you've heard about these particular shutters, but we do offer the same style board and batten shutters. http://www.timberlane.com/resource-center/ordering-support-mat/types-styles-shutters/board-batten/

I see you haven't heard any responses yet, so I wanted to step in to see if I can help. While I don't know about these shutters in particular, we do offer a wood and synthetic option for Bermuda shutters, including this particular design. You can see more of what we offer here: http://www.timberlane.com/resource-center/ordering-support-mat/types-styles-shutters/bermuda/

There are some great ideas offered here. Normally we would be stopping in to recommend shutter options, but it's difficult to offer those without seeing more of the design drawn out based on some of the suggestions here. Right now, your shutters are not properly sized for the window,s and in all honesty, shouldn't have them. If you want shutters for a functional purpose, based on the directional sunlight and airflow, then your best bet would be Bahama shutters, which offer shade, ventilation, and also a decorative element, similar to awnings. For decorative purposes, architectural elements around the windows, along with landscaping and detailed paint would have much more of an impact.

You should start a separate discussion with pictures of your house. Your question will likely get lost if you tack it on to someone else's discussion.

Hi there. I have some options for you. You can do shutters, and on the one window it would balance if you did a bifold shutter, or a single shutter to cover the whole window. It would add some balance, but given the size of the window, you may prefer the bifold (where the full shutter folds over itself, but can allow for coverage of the full window when opened.

There is also the option of adding a Bermuda shutter, which hangs from the top, and adds shade and ventilation.

Shutters will ruin the house- all you will see are the shutters and besides there is no architectural space for shutters. To enhance the house paint the porch posts and beams the same color as the railing spindles. This will make the porch stand apart from the wall and make the space feel much larger and more convivial. Paint the ceiling and all the soffits the same white to make the house feel whole. Remember and small house wants to make a small statement to look its best. The idea for a picket fence is also most excellent. Not only will it dress it up but it will make the home occupy the whole yard, Essentially the house will then start at the sidewalk making it feel larger and more important. Then paint the door a nice color that will please you when you come home.

I do not recommend doing too crazy of a color for the shutters. Especially since the brick accents a red and white. I also do not think that the black would look well. You would have black shutters but white everywhere else. i suggest using a white or changing all the trim to a cream color. Taking off the shutters would look just as well, however.

Beautiful home! Black shutters paired with a black door would look great. Dark gray would also look great, and ties in nicely with the roof. This paint swatch is Downpipe by Farrow & Ball. Good luck!

Viridian, that is absolutely true, but they are a potential customer, so you still need to take the time, if you want to see where the engagement will go. Even if they are just price shopping, strong engagement and making the customer feel heard and helped goes a long way to justifying the spend in their eyes. Then, even if THEY are not the customer, their friends or others may be, on their recommendation. Word of mouth spreads through ALL customers, not just the paying ones.

Anyone remember that old adage... "A picture is worth a thousand words" ? referring to a complex idea that can be conveyed with just a single still image. This is why photography is very important in marketing in the past, present and future.

I get constant e-mails from Thumbtack with leads that are outside my area or outside what I do. I've tried to restrict my area but they send leads that are 3 hours away anyway. and the categories are to vague, for example I'm not interested in doing any roofing or carpet, but I do do repairs and hardwood and tile floors. Then too, often the homeowners don't give any information about the job, and I never give quotes without looking at the job. I have gotten a few responses when my quote is just, $x per hr plus materials but usually I get no response at all. So don't necessarily blame the contractor for the poor results from these lead sites.

Almost all my work these days comes from past customers and word of mouth from them, and maybe 10 to 20% from my ads on Craigslist. Advertising in the newspaper is expensive and returns little results.
