Dutch Kitchen center, I like built-ins they look uniform rather alot of pieces of mis matched furniture. Choosing the right pieces in the room can really help with organization and decorating.

Edited book collection? What is this? Books are the best decorating tool in the world: all rooms look better with books in them. There is no such thing as too many books. And I pity anyone who has books and doesn't read them.

I've been wondering lately about painting the door and window frames a different color than the baseboards, and what do I find in my timeline?!? Exactly that! Looks terrific, Becky Harris! Thanks for such a great article!

Nice house except for the exterior color, looks like an over sized pumpkin. Any color but orange....would have looked much better.

if you make a model and suspend it from all 4 corners, I think you would find the swinging is very minimal. The ropes/chains tend to work against each other, not in unison. It's not like a porch swing with one suspension at each end.

When we designed the hanging bed in image 3, we designed it with 4 hidden adjustable legs below. In the case of a windy day or if you don't want the bed to swing, the legs can be adjusted to make the bed tight to the floor so it doesn't swing at all. This project has now been completed for three years now and the client has never complained about the bed swinging too much, in fact she has commented on how nice the gentle sway of the bed is.
