I would put a larger lamp next to the sofa and find a corner unit to go under the TV. Wouldn't necessarily add something else on that wall. To be honest, I think your TV is in a very odd spot, but if it works for you... :-)

It definitely should be lower (centre of the screen at about eye level) and I'm wondering if you could put it flat against the short wall, or against the long wall. Can you post more photos of the room? So we can see the entire space?

I would put a shelving display unit across entire wall, incorporating TV on swing-out bracket so it can be 'put away' when not in use. Alternatively, just sell your couch and get one that fits the room better. Still do the shelving. An expensive solution, I know!
