Thanks Lisa, your correct I do not want all of that attic space. What do you think of the 2nd bathroom is it on a weird place?

The stairs don't look that great. I always pay special attention to stairs as poor stairs dissect a house while great stairs connect it. Look on stairs as a room just as you would a dining room or kitchen. Different function than those rooms of course but a room none the less.

Any chance of post a first floor plan so we can see how much flexibility there is with regard to the stair and elevations?

I remember reading on this site where a pro recommended against walk in closets in kid's bedrooms. Said they usually ended up as dumping grounds for clothes and stuff!

I am thinking if you eliminated those, and actually turned the office into one of the kid's rooms (move closet into the attic space shown at the top), then the top bathroom could be enlarged to serve both kids.

It could be made much longer: when you walk in from the public space where door would be, there could be double sinks. Then a door to separate the toilet and tub at the back section.

That would allow for the office/guest room to be the area on the top right. It would have its own bath which would be very nice for guests.
