There are many ways to dress a cat (i prefer stating it that way that the traditional saying)

You can start with one single base colour and theme and run it around the entire house. \
For example, variations on white, taupe, cream, sand or beige are reliable palettes with which to work.

Watch out that if rooms are open plan or highly visible through to each other, you should keep to a similar palette unless your aim is to add high drama.

wall colour should usually be your last choice but bear it in mind as you assemble other parts.

Go to your design center and assemble various elements as you outlined above, create a scheme you like and then build on this...

In addition to what ASV said: when you visit your design centre you'll probably be able to narrow down the choices fairly quickly. Some things will appeal to you, others won't.
Keep it simple, follow your gut feeling. Put things together physically, look at it, walk away, go back and then look at it again. If you still like it, it's probably a good choice for you.

Your ideabook gives quite a clear idea of what you like :-) I think you'll be fine.

I spent time researching the tints in the BM whites. I was looking for a white to go with Classic Gray that had gray undertone but read crisp white. Chantilly Lace matched the tint combination I was aiming for and it is perfect. It also matched the Mid-Continent white cabinet.
