About me:
I'm a librarian living with my partner in our first house and trying to make it our own. We're working with a small budget and with VERY little time in my life between working full time, studying part time, and playing roller derby most of the rest of the time!
My favorite style:
ecclectic, vintage, cabinet of curiosities, nerdy, artsy, gothic
My next house project:
Finish painting, tiling, etc. and then hopefully starting to decorate a bit soon!

Oh dear! Not much chance of junior being any different then.
Just for interest what we used to do when the kids were that age after play have a tidy-up time - all part of play. It cerainly worked for my daughter although not so much my son!

My toddlers are good at tidying when they know where things are meant to go. The youngest is 18months and loves a cheer or high 5 for putting things away it's a game. My 3yr old is capable but is sometimes is stroppy about tidying or deliberately messy to make a point.

Loads of character here, but the Kilim rug under the table is going to be really annoying when the chairs are moved about. You should really look for a rug with a stiffer backing where there is a lot of furniture and foot movement.

Great to see a new ideabook directed to the bibliophile crowd as that is my favorite Houzz topic. I have no significant changes from recent posts as I've putting in wood floors in two rooms instead of reading (although I did get through a book a month even with all the manual labor). One of the changes clearing out my DW's office to install said floors is that it gave her the incentive to go through the books in that rooms and clear out outdated references, magazines etc.

As a true believer that your books should take pride of place, I love this idea book. Beautiful carpentry really helps to make these treasured possessions stand out. A little envious of these, for example. A few more years to go for me to build my collection! *Hannah
