"cages" - that's a human perspective. It's their den, a safe place to either sleep or escape the whirlwind of a too-busy house. It's folks who abuse this tool (leaving them in all day while working late hours) that may give crating a bad image.
My dog's each have their own large kennel. I leave the doors open during the day and several times during the day they go in and nap. At night, I say "let's go to bed" and they all run to their kennel. They love having a safe place of their own.
solution for us. This is beautiful for these dogs and safe (I have a fence jumper and would need this height) though I don't know if I'd like it in my house. Maybe in the basement so we don't disturb the neighbors with their howling? Sound proof room? I don't know but these are definitely better than

Day 3: Simplify. Decluttering tasks: Today is the day to let go of something. It could be as big as a full set of formal china you never use or as small as your least favorite placemats
Day 4: Organize. Decluttering tasks: By today your dining room should be cleaner and much less cluttered. Bravo! Now it’s time to take it a step further
in one, napkins and napkin rings in another, serving implements in a third and so on. Before you call it quits today, dig out that list you made on Day 1 cataloging the kinds of things that were cluttering up your dining room. What is on your list? Kids’ homework, magazines, laundry? Look at each item
others, like laundry, the problem could be you don’t have a convenient place to sort and fold clothes in the laundry room itself … but that’s another 7-day plan!

The new house sits back from the suburban road, a pipe-stem lot hidden in the trees. The owner/building had requested a modern, clean statement of his residence. A single rectangular volume houses the main program: living, dining, kitchen to the north, garage, private bedrooms and baths to the south
places: entry, stair, music room and master bath. The modern vocabulary of the house is a careful delineation of the parts - cantilevering roofs lift and extend beyond the planar stucco, siding and glazed wall surfaces. Where the house meets ground, crushed stone along the perimeter base mimics the roof lines
of lawn held away from the foundation. It's the movement through the volumes of space, along surfaces, and out into the landscape, that unifies the house. ProArc Photography
