vegie garden with raised beds and gravel paths plus simple steel pergola and table beneath make it seem very modern
Even vegetable gardens can go contemporary. These raised beds and gravel paths could be straight out of a traditional French potager, but the simple steel pergola and table beneath give this space a modern look.More:Keep Your Garden in LinesGive Your Landscape Rhythm

I am buying used versions of this on Craigs list, for a country garden setting on a farm. I hope to reduce my bending while tending plants. I am sure they will require extra water and could get hot in the south. But for
some holes, or if you do a "garden Lasagna" set up, you won't even have to drill holes, just start with twigs and small branches in bottom, followed by smashed up pop cans, then paper, and finally dirt. Google this technique for more info & good luck! I plan to do raised gardens this year too due to a
two nest together (one a little smaller) so I fit them in the back of a Mazda hatchback car easily. Drilling holes is easy. Then line bottom with garden fabric, put in 3-4 large upside down buckets so you don;t have to fill with so much soil) and throw in a bag of light weight lava rock around the

boards are carriage bolted to them. They were all custom built by the landscape contractor on the project. Depending upon where you live, you could build yours from redwood, cedar or pressure treated wood (make sure you put a barrier betweent pressure treated wood and the soil). Cost will vary depending

fun growing veggies! If you are in the area I am hosting my 4th annual "Life in the Alamo-Danville Garden" garden tour fundraiser on May 3rd. See my website for more info. You can see this veggie garden first hand since it is on the tour.
Hi there! Thanks for the question. I like making garden boxes 24" high so it is easier on your back when you are working on them. I am an avid veggie gardener myself and I have experimented with dimensions for ergonomics in comfort while working on them. I make them 4 ft wide so you can reach half way

Using vegetation as a guard barrier
the low vegetation by the glass
Love the idea of a garden border along the guardrail to soften the harsh lines of a cityscape. Plus, there's the benefit of home-grown veg.

garden in front of glass. Great design
Love the vegetation around the deck.
Hybrid: Vegetation + GuardThis rooftop terrace has vegetation layered in front of the guard system, which has the effect of dematerializing the background. One has the sense that the vegetated border is the real guard. With the foreground lit at night, it’s a particularly effective visual trick.
