I love the small flat green plant featured in this garden. Perfect for a tiny dog to use on an apartment terrace. I'm assuming it's not grass, so what is it?

Late summer garden
This is such a beautiful little garden - would these plants grow well in shaded conditions? Just moved to a new house and want to put in cottage-style gardens, but now realize that most of the yard is shaded by a lot of large trees through the summer
there is a chain-link fence of some type in the background. Does it extend all along the garden or is it just in one part? It's almost invisible--nicely done!

The bluestone patio was screened from the neighbors with a wall of arborvitae. Lush perennial gardens provide flower cutting opportunities and color to offset the green wall.
8. Go bold with your flower color palette. The best colors in the garden come from plants. Do your research in Houzz's garden section for your zone and the types of plants you like — and don't be shy about studying plant tags and asking for help when you hit the nursery. How have you added bold color
And then there is the English garden, for those of us who simply cannot get enough colors and love to mix them all.
