requires a vent for a gas range. However, there are pop-up vents often used with these models. I often use them when putting a range in front of a window. Love them. You don't see them unless they are being used. Many pop-up vents are used on islands also. I love elements of this kitchen. It is so
for a gas range. I'm not saying it's a good idea, I'm just saying it's not against the law. This particular project would seem pretty easy to vent, since it appears to be on an outside wall. The client must not be as messy as we are in my kitchen.

It IS a gas burner, which means there is some sort of gas burner under the lava rock. It appears to be completely clad in natural stone, so it isn't going anywhere. There are some tricks to doing something like this so it will work reliably and not kill anyone. There are some "off-the-shelf" components
