Dear Mark,
I love your work and I only wish I can have you design our new home in Miami Beach! I moved from San Francisco 8 years ago and miss home dearly. Anyhow I am wondering what type of stone was used for the fireplace.
MT
Hi Mark - Love your work! How high off the ground is the fireplace? I have an 8-foot ceiling and am installing a similar fireplace. Thanks in advance!
The floor is an edge grain bamboo, the walls Benjamin Moore silver bells or mountainscape.
Thank you very much!
The stone we used is the Virginia Ledgestone found on this page:

What floor stain was used and on what type of wood?
these floors look and would like to purchase... however, when I go to the VV website and view "Flintrock" it looks like a somewhat different floor (maybe it is the lighting). Could these possibly be the Autumm Hickory? Also, are they handscraped or just distressed? Thank you so much!
hickory floors in Flintock by Virginia Vintage. They come in 5" distressed planks or a 3/5/7 size. Love them!
White kitchen and dark wood floor.
Floor and ceiling. Not sure on cabinets.
Like the contrasting floor with the white cabinets

We are mulling over options for our flooring. Considering hardwood but have been told that porcelain tile can look exactly the same with less maintenance. Any suggestions or opinions? Thank you!
How can I publish my work here?
Working with a large open space, no columns or beams.
Do Tounge and groove ceiling work without beams
Do younger and groove ceiling work with out beams
The floor looks like an edge grain amber or carbonized (depending on the company) , my guess would be engineered, is that the case Mark ?
Thank you both very much. Marke we have been looking at bamboo for some time. We love the color of this floor. Goes well with style.
like wood flooring, nor does it feel like it. Porcelanosa makes a good example.

the floors are oak - and we worked with out installers floor stain options. I'd recommend coming up with something with your installer to acheive the color you're looking for since they will have the stain they prefer to use

wooden floors please?
Thanks a lot.
sure it works in your space. The effect of color is so dependent on light, adjoining tones, materials, etc.
Before going to the trouble and/or expense of painting a room, you might think about getting some Sherwin-Williams "Color To Go" samples ($5 ea.) and painting a large sample (2' x 3' works well)
how it works -- daytime, nighttime, etc. I can't tell you how often a client has changed the tone (maybe only slightly) once they've seen this.
If you've got the budget, you might also consider working with an interior designer. A good designer can help pull colors together and really make a space

recommend working with a local supplier to get what you need based on your room size/dimensions/color pallette.
These were custom specified by a local mill work - Smoots - any local millwork in your area should be able to work with you
