"faux" wainscoting where you purchase foot boards (1/4 inch thick) and have them all cut to 3 feet - space them about 20 inches apart, adding a chair rail to the top of the boards. You would then paint the entire lower section white. Hope that is helpful.

1917 bathroom had lost its character somewhere along the way and after the toilet and tub began leaking into the kitchen below we knew we had to start working on it. That meant tearing out the plaster and lath, the old (beautiful) tile underneath layers of linoleum and the builder grade fixtures. We
work in there but they're perfect in here!
covered in rust on the outside and we used an orbital sander attachment for our drill to sand it as smooth as we could and then we applied several coats of the primer and then the color.
