glass wall to the garden beyond.
A well-tempered, uncluttered interior space creates a stage for thought and imagination. Here books are the wall art, as is the large window overlooking a wonderful old tree. A minimalist fireplace
lots of books. Old ones, new ones, a mix — it all works. Sprinkle in a few reference books. (Yes, those still exist post-Internet.) And if you haven't read all of them, we won't tell.
Why one wall of books when you can have two? If this room only had one wall covered with books it would want another
filled with books and flames, you can really just let yourself escape into your own imagination. It's rare to see a fireplace against a glass wall like this but it's a neat design format that should be considered if it's possible. Just picture reading a book by this fire while snow falls outside and you can

what is on the other side of pony wall
filled with books. Jackets are all colors. The room is airy and cases look so messy. I think putting like colors together is not the answer. Any ideas?
Try removing the covers from the books. The mix of colors will appear almost neutral and have the same effect as a beautifully presented collection.
Wall 'o shelving as alt to built-ins
wall though - although we do have a lot of books to store, and some could perhaps find a home in various rooms
Wall of books is almost like having a really bad ass accent wall. I love having fun nic-nacs between and around

striking wall covered with book leaves greets visitors as they enter the home. "The pages are from books I had around the house," Camille says. "Two were old French study guides; the other two novels I got at Goodwill for about 50 cents each. I just used my stapler from school to tack the pages up there

Book case! No CDs or DVDs
Just like the wall of bookshelves.
empty wall is all you really need to build a library. If your space has vaulted ceilings, show them off by extending the wall of books to the very top.
library wall follows the form of the ceiling, and is broken up by a secretary-esque piece in the center.

You can make them yourself! Glue a cheap metal bookend inside a book and stack the others on top. :)
How did you make those books look like they're floating?
