Hello - The headers on the stone area are a packed out 1x6 composite trim board (PVC). The are meant to look like the old wood headers
stone. That piece is also provided by the stone company. They are about 2-1/2" thick and about 24" long. However, yes you could use brick as an alternative

Hi, yes...we used the 1/2" thickness, but had the edges built to 3".
