I'd like to do a cabinet similar to this; is the washer/dryer cabinet vented in anyway? I was looking at the spec requirements and they indicate venting is required e.g. a mesh or slats about the size of a air/heat register.
Are the cabinet doors for the washer/dryer
Washer/dryers can be noisy! I am thinking about combining the laundry room with a living space but I am concerned about the noise factor? Any thoughts please?
Is there a tray under the washer?

I spoke with Mike O'Hearn, the senior project designer on this project, and he assured me that the dryer and the bathroom fan both vent outside.

that an enclosed washer/dryer had to be behind vented doors, such as doors with louvers. Anyone know anything about this? I'd like to mine this way without the vented doors.
I love the real pale yellow on the cabinets. Does anyone know what color was used? Thanks!

Is it a code violation to use non-vented doors in washer/dryer set up
wouldn't the enclosed dryer be a huge fire hazard?
Hi. Can you tell us what the depth of the cabinet for washer and dryer was?
It's the same idea as placing the washer and dryer in a hall closet -- as some clients do, especially on the second level of a house. It's all properly vented.

how is the washer and dryer cabinet made? What materials are used?
Did you use a shower pan under the washer and dryer? If so is there a drain?
Is that a special pan that I can buy at HD et al? Just curious as my current washer leaks occasionally, and I know the plumber
It's a pan designed for a washer, it has a hole and drain line attached that goes to the stack. Thanks for your question.
I used cabinet material from the cabinet company and built it up on metal pans that are covered. Its a lot of parts and pieces

you are still thinking about this, I don't think you'd have a problem with the height of the buttons. I'm only 5 feet tall and I have the same washer and dryer as the ones in the photo and I can reach just fine. :) Did you ever find any with controls on the bottom?

How do you get access to plumbing behind washer/dryer?
All the cabinetry here is custom made by a cabinet maker. We usually design our upper cabinets to be 13" to 14" in total depth. Clothes rods need to be 12" from the back wall, so that works

This piece was probably built on site from parts by the carpenter/installer. I've sold many brands of cabinets over the years and have never seen a "standard cabinet" like this.

What's the make/model of the bi-fold cabinet doors?
Are the cabinets custom? I'm not finding a lot of results when I search "bi-fold cabinet doors." Thanks!
Yes, they are custom cabinets, the bi fold doors are made from standard panels that are connected with a piano hinge.
Was it difficult to hook-up the vent and water lines? Maybe an access panel or something? How deep did you make the cabinets? Thanks from a fellow architect.
