I'd like to do a cabinet similar to this; is the washer/dryer cabinet vented in anyway? I was looking at the spec requirements and they indicate venting is required e.g. a mesh or slats about the size of a air/heat register.
Are the cabinet doors for the washer/dryer
Washer/dryers can be noisy! I am thinking about combining the laundry room with a living space but I am concerned about the noise factor? Any thoughts please?
Is there a tray under the washer?
I spoke with Mike O'Hearn, the senior project designer on this project, and he assured me that the dryer and the bathroom fan both vent outside.

What if you need to replace the washer or dryer?
It looks like the cabinets were custom made to fit the washer and dryer. What if you can't find an exact fit again?
My own washer and dryer are front loading Miele appliances and I assure you that they use less water and less electricity despite the longer cycles. Seattle City Light gave us $500 rebate when we bought these appliances long ago. But the cycles are

A space at the end of the island holds one of the client's biggest musts: a washer and dryer. This LG appliance actually combines both functions in one to save space.

What type of washer & dryer?
Could you give me the make and model of this washer & dryer combo? The size looks perfect for our room. Thank you.
Our architect is suggesting we put our only washer and drier in our master bedroom closet. I'm worried about resell
resell if this is the only washer and drier. What are your thoughts about this?
Our washer/dryer are in the master closet. Thought it was pretty weird when we bought the house a couple of years ago...but now I love it! Very convenient. I don't have to carry a heavy basket of dirty/clean clothes back and forth. I fold clothes on the bed so don't need extra folding space. Works

is a great idea! How high is the bench? I'm assuming the cabinet custom but can a stock cabinet take the weight of a fully loaded and operating washer & dryer?
How do you put drawers in a homemade pedestal like this with enough support for the washer and dryer?
like washer and dryer to be raised- in my current house they sit on stands that come with the washer/dryer
interesting....I was wondering if there would be vibration issues with the washer/dryer sitting on the pedestal, but not if they are constructed they way you indicate, I would guess....and certainly no different that being up on store bought pedestals....
Raised washer and dryer so don't have to bend over to get clothes out.

Cape Cod Beach House Remodel
Before the remodel the clients had the washer and dryer in the kitchen. They liked it in that location so we added a countertop above for more useable space. Photo: Brian Tetrault Productions Builder: C&J Hunt Construction
What is the model number for this washer and dryer?
What is the depth of the countertop that is over the washer and dryer?
It's about 30" deep. The washer and dryer are 30" deep plus a little space behind them for the plumbing and electrical outlets.
I don't have the exact specs but this is an LG set. The dryer is ventless and the units are both compact models for small spaces. Thanks!

The ultimate closet
Will the heat of the dryer effect my clothes?
We may install a stacked washer/dryer in a much smaller closet than pictured (approximately 6' x 8'). Will the heat damage clothes? Should I put an enclosure around the W/D? Thanks!
contractor was concerned and suggested putting it in the hallway with the back using up some closet space. I have a nook like yours (where your current washer dryer is) which can hold about 100 pairs of shoes. I don't have that many and really do not need to display my shoes :). wasteful space.
know what? I'm not really sure. I suppose that would be a question better asked of the manufacturer supplying the dryer. It's probably a good idea to keep the clothes separated from the dryer vent area near the back, like we did here. Sorry I couldn't be much more help than that.
