what is your source for the tank head or what is the circumference? also, what is under the stone to catch the water and what type pump are you using to get that pressure? Thanks!!! jen
Google search tank heads for a source close to you. This is a 72" diameter head. Under the gravel is a vault made of cinder box which is sealed and water proofed. Not sure about the pump. A good pump company can help you spec the proper size for this

Add WaterI bet you don't think of water as necessary for butterflies, but it is. You won't see them sipping from a pond or pool like birds, though, as they slurp droplets. This is why a fountain or other water feature that splashes a bit is important, as the action creates nearby butterfly-size mud puddles

The Wave House
for clients who wanted to integrate elements of fire and water in a modern setting, with ease of maintenance. The entrance features poured in place concrete that was sandblasted on site, arranged in a free form pattern that extends over the water, creating a dramatic entrance in a relatively small space
The courtyard with water and fire feature has poured in place, sandblasted concrete slabs. The grass in between is actually artificial turf, which looks extremely realistic

Rain water is channeled through a perforated pipe to create a waterfall. The water then is channeled into rain water reserve tanks under ground. Photo: Aaron Leitz
Must have one! How, where does the water drain off? Recirculate?
mjlopez1983, The rain water is stored in a cistern, and re-used for the water feature, (and irrigation). We never have water shortage in Seattle. But if you are in a dry area, you can set up your system to be supplemented by city water. You can also have a switch on the system to
So, the amount of water coming down the waterfall (or the time it lasts falling) depends on how much rain we get?
This could be a cheap water feature.
Interesting idea, stored rain water could then be used to water garden...would

stylish Spanish tiles; and multiple accent spillways. A large, open dining 'room' with incredible views is accented by a refined bubbling urn and emitter water feature. Grand motor court gates and a drive lined with large specimen olive trees and a vast vineyard on the hillside completes this design.
justified in the face of water shortages?
Yes, fountains are beautiful, but aren't California, Arizona and other states having problems providing sufficient water to residents? If so, don't the building codes prohibit privately owned, decorative water features because water is wasted due to evaporation
evaporation? Yes, the water is recycled through the fountain using a pump, but that cannot prevent loss via evaporation. In the face of water shortages, how can anyone justify these water wasters? Or am I missing something?

Hi, I love this idea and curious of how the water source is employed?
I love the modern stone work and the artful simplicity of this water feature. Did you use cool white LED underwater fixtures to illuminate the waterfall?
