Love this look. Integration of paving, DG, and drought tolerant landscaping. These colors would be nice for the Wagon Wheel house.
Back patio ideas for my house.
Might be better to keep the step, and then have people step down to the eating area. That way we don't have to panic about wanter backing up to the house.

The ship wheel looks wonderful at the entrance.
captain's wheel or whatever it is!!
This color is gorgeous! Very welcoming, and the ship wheel is a great touch!
Why it works here: Curb appeal. Propping the wheel up against the coastal-colored shingles reminds visitors where they are. Also, its large scale stands up to the size of the entryway, which keeps the wheel from looking like a piece of clutter.
style with an architectural salvaged piece, such as a vintage stained glass window or even artwork — or if nautical is your thing, a giant ship’s wheel.

Hi, how do you put the wagon wheels in the ground and were they treated before planting them? Thank you.
Just curious how wide are the Wagon wheels? I want that look and found some that are 31" but not sure if that's big enough.
How big are the Wagon wheels?
I want this look and found wheels that are 31". is that large enough to accomplish the look?
These wheels were 40" but there are no rules. Any size can be made to work depending on the look you want. Smaller wheels will likely look better spaced a bit closer. For stability, the wheels were cut as half wheels and braced across the base diameter with screwed
driven into the ground deeply. The metal also served to protect the wood from rotting. Coating with oil or stain will help extend the life of the wooden wheels.

Why it works here: White walls. One often thinks of ship wheels as part of decor that includes dated 1970s paneling, captain's chairs and lots of other dark wood furniture. Drywall or light-colored painted planks let the wheel stand out as a sculptural object.
