I'm doing doing this in the next few week for sure. Any need to paint the outside or will they stay protected from rust? Thanks so much, these are splendid!

Sunday: Plant something. Plants help clean the air and keep our planet cool. Do your part and take advantage of whatever space you have to grow something. Don't have a huge yard? Not a problem. Get creative with container planting, a vertical garden or even a pot of herbs on your windowsill
at Banyon Tree Design Studio and fill galvanized troughs (yes, the kind livestock drink from) with soil and compost, and use them as containers to plant your seeds.

be sure to smell these "flowers" while in bloom before you plant them- to many people they have a horrible garlic stench!

What is the creeping plant growing on the fence
What is the white flowering plant?
know the roots do attach to wood, brick, or stucco. I planted one on a fence that adjoins the house and runners attach to the house but if not connected there should be no problem. The roots and runners do get to 1 inch in diameter.
if you plant a creeping fig on the fence away from the house would
wide enough to accommodate a circular focal point (with a well-proportioned urn at its center). There is ample room for Mediterranean herbs and annual bedding plants to flourish along both sides of a pathway, which parts around the center urn and ends at the garden gate.

vegetables. If you have the space, add a potted lemon tree or two to your balcony. You can also do container gardens or window boxes with herbs or a few berry plants, or raised beds of vegetables. (We all know how good homegrown tomatoes are in summer.)
I spied this garden the other day when I was looking for bocce ball courts. I love the way the edible plants inhabit the space between the court and the walkway.

Thanks for the question. Sorry, I can't really help you with plant combinations for Texas. Anyone with knowledge of Texas plants please feel free to chime in. Thanks
Sedum spurium (I don't recall the variety, It may be 'Red Carpet'). The one flowering toward the back is a Dianthus (firewitch or frosty fire). These plants do best in well-drained soil with full sun. This project is in Minneapolis, MN which is zone 4 (usda hardiness)
