Can someone tell me where to purchase this lovely door? Many Thanks
what is the stain color on the door and sidelight? Thank you
The door is doug fir but the floor is bleached vertical grain bamboo, factory finish, semi-gloss
Can you tell me the door manufacturer please.
Can I use a water base stain instead of an oil finish on the fir door?
VG Douglas fir is an excellent species for entry doors! The "hardest of the softwoods" is tough and durable; good screw-holding characteristics; resinous - not to the same extent as cedar, etc - but certainly
well; beautiful and quite uniform in vertical grain cuts. VG fir is particularly "millable" and holds fine detail well (see the attached custom Simpson Door example). Fir is photo-sensitive and will redden with age and fade in direct sunlight - so keep sunlight exposure in mind and choose a UV-inhibitor
