There is no exterior window trim. What you see is a vertical lip of aluminum welded to the the aluminum angle steel that supports the window and holds it in place. The other leg of the angle is hidden beneath the cypress siding.

Did you also move the kitchen wall and add space? What is the adjoining room in the distance?
Folding kitchen window...Brilliant ! Can you please give dimensions?
Patti and Rick, Beautiful redesign of a '50's ranch kitchen! Do you recall the floor space available on the long sides of the island. I know they recommend 4', but I wonder if 3'8" or less is wide enough to manage. Are any of these cabinets from IKEA? I think it's brilliant you used sliding doors
@chestnutkitchen The homeowners took out all the walls to adjoin the kitchen, living and dining areas. The open concept design, bright colours and accordion style window certainly make the kitchen feel and look larger than before! FYI the room in the distance is the family room.

A country-style kitchen feels current but reflects the timeless quality of the home. Granite countertops were installed for ultimate durability, and glass-faced upper cabinets provide extra storage without restricting the open quality of the space. A large window over the sink opens to a beautiful view
Three single casement windows combine to frame this kitchen's grand view of Virginia's rolling hills. I'm especially fond of the apron sink and Arts and Crafts trim.
