21 House
I am looking to hang a modern print in my 1894 home using the picture rail and am not sure what I should use. A silk cord seems to traditional and wire seems to utilitarian. I have the hooks installed already. Help! Thank you.
Hardware used for hanging pictures may be visible or hidden. In this case, the wire and hooks of this picture are visibly hanging from the picture rail.

Who did you purchse your railing system from for the staircase
maybe use horizontal wires between posts
banker wire, as we'd discussed for the outside.
Exposed framing covered by translucent panels - as long as they don't have to be insulated, etc. Maybe run wiring in conduits?

Here's the specification: IBP GlassWalk SG System for Floors: extruded aluminum Grid System for floors as manufactured by Innovative Building Products, Inc., 2917 W. 7th Street, Fort Worth, TX, 76107, 817/332-9124 or 800/932-2263.
strong horizontal lines with horizontal wires instead of vertical bars
still love the wire railings indoors; love the slate floor but would be hesitant to use indoor again with the dust and upkeep; maybe cement
