species of wood is the barbeque island made of?
The wood .... why was Ipe chosen for the outdoor areas? What are its unique properties. Could it work outdoors in tropical Florida?
thin IPE wood product that was used on the BBQ sides? Since wood expands, how is this handled? Thanks for any input. It's a beautiful project.

Since you'll most likely be using this during the summer, you don't want to build your backyard kitchen out of something you'll barely

Waterlox can be damaged by high heat. Basically, treat the countertop like a countertop and use a cutting board

Woods and fresh air. Homes in Scandinavia draw inspiration from nature, with natural finishes on wood furniture, neat stacks of firewood beside efficient little stoves and large doors that can be flung open in good weather.
fill with wood. All manufacturers offer heating performance guidelines, which are usually tied to square footage. This square footage number is generic in that it assumes 8-foot ceilings, but you can easily translate that to cubic footage to more closely approximate your home’s size. Heat delivered is shown

Wood mantels like this are not typically attached directly to masonry. They're attached to the Chimney Breast - which is made of framing lumber and plaster and/or drywall - surrounding the masonry.
