These raised beds allow the homeowner- an avid vegetable gardener- to have ample space for a number of crops in a beautiful space. Raised beds are a great way to grow veggies in the Northwest for a variety of reasons. They drain well because they are elevated and are typically filled with a lighter soil

Blue Door to Orchard Area
Humanity or the local recycling store! It's wood , so it's biodegradable, The entire concept is outside the box and edgy (a small bow to Martha and shabby chic). Have a creativity fling once in a while!
If you like the thicker door look and want the wood exterior not to warp you use a standard metal
metal insulated door and laminate the additional wood on either side. The inset panel can be 1/4 plywood. Glazing: the grid can be square stock and add standard moldings to create glass stop on either side. (don't forget to use expanstion block under the glass) The picture is for an over sized 3'6" door

Love the wood siding and the large overhang.
Stone and Sand Asian-style gardens quickly come to mind in a
technique for hundreds of years in their Zen gardens. Here finely crushed stone has been raked into patterns simulating water currents flowing, even circling stone formations that represent islands in the sea.

Willow Arch in a Palo Alto Garden
Fall in a Palo Alto Garden re-design. I designed a Willow Arch for this garden re-design project to go with the Willow furniture purchased for the new Secret Garden. The old lawn will be replaced with a low-water, no mow variety.
try. I don't know where that came from. I designed around the existing aggregate, which had been in this garden for many, many years. My dear client, wanted to keep some things about the garden that reminded her of her beloved husband and over 50 years in that house together.

What type of wood was used.
Pressure treated wood is not bad to use. Wood that was pressure treated after 2003 is ok. Before 2003 was when they used arsenic. ITS OK!
These slim garden beds are perfect for those with narrow landscapes. The homeowners here are reaping the benefits of homegrown food without giving away too much of their precious yard space.
