fireplace was painted brick. My design added millwork (at a code-approved distance from the fireplace opening) and drywall. I had the exposed brick black. Thanks for the question.
The bookshelves are custom and constructed out of wood lumber, trim and moulding and then painted. Hope this answers your question
I just painted a sample of Gray Horse to test it out. I love it, but it feels a bit too saturated for our North facing room. Looks much lighter here but you do have lots of white. Wondering is this full strength or did you do a reduction? Beautiful room!

Moore paint and used it here. The walls are Gray Horse (pearl finish), the ceiling is Decorator's White (pearl finish) and the trim is White Dove (satin finish).

tile over wood. If forced air and or radiant heat from another source - radiators, and or from the ceiling -- no concerns about using wood. I would gap the wood boards off of the cement with pressure treated furring strips and depending on how long concrete has been in place and what is above it ( exposed to elements and or completely protected from the elements) I would consider
