What are the dimensions of the lid?
I have a contractor building this for us in Seattle while referencing your picture as we love what you have done. Our lid dimensions are 21" deep x 78" long. He initially was going to use plywood but it has
3/4 mdf. We are nervous that these hinges (I ordered the same ones you used) will not support this size door and that it may split the mdf. Is your lid smaller? Thanks for your help and for uploading pictures of your beautiful projects.
We have a similar bench in out home. Our contractor did not install any type of mechanism to keep the lid open. Where did you purchase your hardware? Are those slow closing hinges?
If you go to www.richelieu.com you will find different types of lid stays.

Large glass doors with a curbless transition to the outdoors in combination with a skylight and back-painted glass the color of water and sky create an experience that's like showering out in the open. A very free feeling and one that requires a secluded location.
