The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is the largest housing trade association in the United States. We represent the craftsman, innovators and problem solvers who build homes, enrich communities and change lives.

Operating at the local, state and national levels, the NAHB federation helps its members achieve professional success through knowledge building, networking opportunities, access to industry experts, advocacy efforts and savings programs. NAHB strives to protect the American Dream of housing opportunities for all.
Chartered in 1941, the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) is a trade organization whose members are involved in the development, homebuilding, and remodeling industry in 11 counties. The association interacts with the government, community and general public to enhance the business climate for its members, and to provide quality obtainable housing to the community it serves. The association is also active in community outreach and charitable events.

GHBA is the largest home builders association (HBA) in Texas, and the third largest in the nation. GHBA's mission is “To provide advocacy, education and meaningful services to benefit its members and the housing industry.”

The GHBA has over 1,500 member companies representing more than 60,000 full time jobs.

The local homebuilding industry generates about $3 billion in annual wages, taxes, fees, and other revenue to the local economy plus Houston’s residential housing market continues to be one of the most affordable and stable in the nation. Buying a new home in the Houston area is one of the smartest investments you will ever make for yourself and the local economy.
Founded in 1946, the Texas Association of Builders (TAB) is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and has 28 local home builders associations and nearly 10,000 members across Texas. Representing over 702,500 jobs and more than $31.1 billion annually in the Texas economy, the state and local associations play a crucial role in providing housing for Texans.
The NAHB Remodelers of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in collaboration with Home Innovation Research Labs, NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council, and AARP developed the Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) program. CAPS professionals have the answers to your questions. They have been taught the strategies and techniques for designing and building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments.

The CAPS program goes beyond design to address the codes and standards, common remodeling expenditures and projects, product ideas, and resources needed to provide comprehensive and practical aging-in-place solutions. CAPS graduates pledge to uphold a code of ethics and are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and participating in community service.
Your home is probably the most significant investment you'll ever make. You need the very best to plan and execute your remodeling or renovation project. Look for a NAHB Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR).

CGRs have earned professional designations from NAHB specific to the remodeling industry, and many are members of a local Remodelers Council, which are affiliated with NAHB Remodelers.

When you hire a CGR, you are doing business with an individual who is committed to continuing education and professional growth and will bring exceptional skill and knowledge to your project.

To become a CGR, a remodeler must have at least five years of experience in the industry, take a qualifying exam and successfully complete a pre-set curriculum of courses specific to the remodeling industry, including project and business management.
