One of Northern California's premier residential and business communities, Pleasanton is well regarded as an attractive and friendly city with a strong heritage, active and involved residents, a wide variety of services, well-planned business areas, a historic downtown and well-cared for homes in family-oriented neighborhoods. The City of Pleasanton Building Division provides plan review and field inspections of all structures to ensure safe, healthy, accessible and sustainable buildings that comply with local and state laws. We enforce the City's Municipal Code, current building codes, state mandated energy and water conservation, disabled access as well as housing regulations. The Building Division serves as a resource for homeowners, businesses, contractors and designers. We have a one-stop Permit Center with six counter stations to serve customers, as well as convenient meeting rooms for larger groups. The City of Pleasanton Permit Center is the place to get questions answered regarding Planning, Building, Engineering and Traffic Engineering Permits, submit applications, research older building permits and deal with Code Enforcement issues. We schedule over-the-counter plan reviews for many projects, and provide two customer workstations in our Permit Center for you to view archived records.
