I would need to see more pics of the whole room but I think that I would arrange the desk so that when you are seated you are looking out at the room,not staring at the wall;) More pics please;)

Okay - here are more pictures. This is a great room concept with front door opening into the room. First thing you see when you walk in is the fireplace.

One more picture. I had originally had the two towers broken up - one was in the kitchen and the tall one was in the corner by the front door (where the large floor plant is currently in these pictures). We are not putting a dining table in this area, so have been working on what would look best here. Don't know if the desk is the right answer, but it is convenient :)

Another option is to lose the desk area all together and add bookcases that I have in the basement. I could decorate them up to look good.
