Canna lily? It looks the way mine do when the leaves have dried out and become thinner and more spiky in winter. I think painting it would work.

Your window treatment - I would have done the floor to ceiling verticals across that whole
wall covering the little window on right. You could probably add the rest at minimal cost.

You could do a throw, but I would remove a couple of the pillows if you do.
Are you taking down the verticals? Not red, I would do a taupe or beige - something neutral.

I do find the artwork a little high, but maybe you walk behind the sofa so don't want to run into it. I would take down the two shelf things on each side.

The lamp in the left corner, put it near the little table beside the sofa. Is that another lamp in the right side corner? Maybe it could go elsewhere.
