Thank you for your reply. We bought a rustic lake house that needs a major face lift. I keep thinking i should paint the dark wood moldings (tons of windows and natural light), but you've inspired me to keep them. i'm going to paint the color on a wall to test it. my furniture is taupe/grey with dark hardwood floors.

Also, what color are the doors in this house given the dark trim? I cant decide if I should paint them a shade lighter than the walls or keep them the same color as the trim. Thx in advance!
