Design an office for 2 adults

I have an open 12x12 room. I am trying to decide which style desk to go for to create the most room. I have considered L shaped but I think we will be too close and always backing our chairs into each other. My last options I've considered is a larger desk in the center of the room where we face each other or two completely separate desks on opposing walls. Any ideas? Open to design styles too.

WIthout seeing the layout, it is hard to say, but generally it should work better to have units on opposite walls. 12x12 should allow 8 feet between 2' deep units. Shared equipment like printers can be on a third wall.
