Was the barn wood left splintery? Was is sanded or waxed at all? Or was nothing at all done to the wood?
We want to use barn wood for our mud room but I'm worried about splinters with kids and also when hanging coats, etc. Thanks.

We did not leave the barnwood raw, a wire brush was used to knock off the major splinters and loose pieces. This particular space is not waxed but you can seal it with a dead flat to seal without changing color of the material. Good luck!
