What can I put on empty stucco wall on front porch?
Comments (17)It would bother me, too. Not that there's anything "wrong" with it, I just am not too good at thinking outside the box. I don't know that a swing would work. Because of the bushes/wall, you will only see the chains and some of the back of it. Neither would I do any kind of iron piece that comes up from the floor because it would be too close in looks to the door. I would opt for something oval on the wall, if I could find it. I know that there is decorative lightweight molding that can be installed with adhesive...it could be made to mimic a window frame. without the window. (Like this: http://www.architecturaldepot.com/GVOV29X20D.html but without the inside part.) Not that you asked, but I might remove the bushes from the front, too. If I was feeling brave, I would paint the door a wow color... It's a beautiful house. Sorry. I think I was mid edit and didn't realize it had posted (I was away from my screen)...See MoreWhere should I put my TV - over Fireplace or on couch wall?
Comments (9)It's great that you are considering this issue now, before construction is finished. You are saving yourself some money and headache down the road. It is always much more expensive to have an electrician install the outlets and cables for a TV after the walls are finished. A couple of things to consider about your TV placement: What other kinds of AV components will you have? Your electrician will need to know to wire HDMI and other cables for things like: Blu-Ray, cable/satellite receiver, audio receiver/sound bar, game system, etc... Consider viewing distance. This is usually based on a TV's resolution. For example a 55" 780p TV the viewing distance is a minimum of 10.5 feet. A 1080p 55" screen would need about 8-8.5 feet viewing distance. If you plan to add floor outlets or use lamps elsewhere in the room, consider having the electrician wire them so that they can be switched if desired. The cost difference on new construction is minimal for this. Summit Electric - Residential Electrical Service - Buford, GA...See MoreCan I put a TV behind a sofa on a sofa table. Comments (38)I've been shopping for a console and love the "Ming" cabinet from Ethan Allen. It is 77" wide, 18" deep and 32.5" high. A distressed and lacquered teal...I'm thinking if the TV is a focal point for this long, narrow room, this cabinet will be a statement piece. My concern is that there is too much color here. A lot going on. The floral, the stripe, now the teal console. The walls will be painted a cream or ivory that is in the family of the background of the drapes. I am replacing the present sofa with an English roll arm sofa from EA (Oxford sofa). The fabric sample is called Cayman Tan. It is posted with the wood sample of the console. What do you think? I've turned the chairs a bit toward the sofa and I am able to converse with people on the sofa and see the TV. What are your thoughts?...See MoreCan I put a flatscreen fireplace behind couch?
Comments (5)Thanks for the tips! I've never heard of the flat radiator type heater but I will look into! A tower heater might also be nice. Definitely lots of options besides a electric fireplace. Thanks again!...See MoreNancy Travisinteriors
