yes there is a metal primer you can use and paint them to match your other trim, the power of paint is amazing, have fun

Paint or powdercoating are great options. Powdercoating is way more durable.

Powder coating is a great option but much more expensive than mental primer because you have to hire a professional that will spray a material on them that gets basically baked on afterward in high heats.

Like Donna mentioned above metal primer will be a quick and very economical way to go. I have used the metal primer to paint doors exactly like these in several of my of rental homes.

The metal primer works perfect. But the best one I have found so far comes from Sherwin Williams. I have tried the big box stores and Benjamin Moore metal primer but found them to be not as cohesive. I have used metal prime on all kinds of outdoor pieces as well and Sherwin Williams metal primer stands up to all the elements. At least for me..

If there is any dust or any sticky residue on them of coarse that will need to be removed first. You can ask the guys at the store to tint your metal primer the same color you are painting them. This just helps with coverage since your doors are so dark.

Then I sprayed them with a semi- gloss finish.

But I suppose the finish would be to your personal liking. If your matching it with trim like I was then maybe you would match the sheen as well. Up to you really

I found changing the door knobs helps to update the look of the doors. They have unique ones and tons of them to choose from at Hobby Lobby for no more than than 6 bucks a knob to give them a custom look.

After they are pulled open and closed so many times they begin to show a bit of sagging. To fix that problem you can adjust the springs or buy new ones at your local hardware store. Lastly, if you have problems opening and closing them purchase graphite liquid. a few drops on each spring(or roller) on the top and bottom will make them work like new again.
