Thanks for your interest in Superior Woodcraft's projects. That width looks to be approximately 50". It is important to provide enough space in the aisle ways in the kitchen. When you start getting below 36" in width it become cramp and reduces the comfort and functionality of the kitchen. To determine an adequate width for your needs place painters tape on the floor where you range and island will be and see how that feels to you. If you are going to have drawers, dishwashers, range doors, etc that will open determine how much space they will consume when open and tape that area off as well. This will give you an good approximation of the room you'll have to maneuver. Give yourself plenty of space. Most people complain about a lack of space vs having too much space.
