You'll want to consider the roof color, so I'm thinking a buffalo brown shade with a teal door and storm. Use a creamy ivory on the trim. but first I'd replace the fluted trim across the gable with a smooth finish trim as close as possible to what is on top of the gable. Can't tell how deep the gable is, but when budget allows, consider opening it and installing a porch all the way across the gable portion. Meanwhile, you could add a little bit of a focal trim piece in the center of it to relieve the flatness of it. The 1/2 round one here would echo the window in your door, but the proportion has to be right for the amount of gable surrounding it.
