How tall is the wall? You and your stuff live below the window and door frames. Decorate there for best impact.

Have you tried moving that Hutch/desk piece on that wall and the sofa in it's place? Just don't put the sofa up tight against the wall.

I agree. Empty wall space can still look great with the right wall accessories. A single, simple wall hanging might do well in a space like this.

I posted on your other thread, but I'll add my suggestions here. Put a large panoramic picture over the couch, and a large portrait oriented picture in that large open space. Frame them in the same color wood as your furniture with a large matt, and the wall should look great.

Here are some ideas for you. The first two beach photos would make a great set. I try to coordinate my pictures so they all have a similar theme when they're grouped together.

I've ordered several prints from alllposters.com, and am happy with the quality of the prints. I upgraded the paper where possible. They must print them after you order them so the shipping is a tad slow, but other than that, I've been very happy with how nice they look--I framed them myself.

The shelves are fine...just too many with too much stuff on them. First of all, can the sofa go on the center of the wall? (Don't count the window as part of the wall.)

Then try to balance the arrangement to the couch. Don't try to fill the entire wall. Hang pictures' don't lean them.

You can add a framed mirror above the widow and install longer curtains to get the effect of a transom which raises the visual height of the window. Here is what I did in my guest bedroom.

The wall is probably like 18 feet to the top of the gold paint then the ceiling peaks up higher

I would suggest hanging a medium to large size craftsman era mirror with a solid wood frame (such as a dark stained oak) with our black Hammered Flat Track. Our hammered hangers are hand forged by our local blacksmith. This would make a great accent piece. It would complement your current pieces and could also open up the room.
