Has anyone ever used shoprtacabinets.com? I need help with a refund!!!

Carrie Cox

"very bad" as a review is an understatement. Horrible, Nightmarish, the worst online company next to a scam. Please heed this warning, do NOTorder from shoprtacabinets.com. 7 weeks after my order was placed, I had to file a complaint with the BBB. Shipping is promised 2-4 weeks after order but is completely false. There is NO communication with this company. Shoprtacabinets.com would only accept E-checks so they had my money the day of the order. The customer service phone # has an auto response that they only answer emails. The online chat messages are NEVER responded to. Emails are ignored. Replies are only given after you submit multiple high priority tickets. As of this review, I am still waiting for a refund or resolution with the BBB.

Chinese imports are always problematic craptastic cabinets. Some are just worse than others.

Have you though of hiring an attorney? Do you have a street address for this company? If so, an attorney might be able to write them a letter 'encouraging' them to get your order done and shipped.

Have you googled the name of the company with the word 'complaints'? If not, do so and see what you can find out.

When it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. 3K for a kitchen's worth of cabinets would be a giant red flag that you aren't getting quality, nor are you dealing with someone who cares if you get quality. The sweetness of low price is long gone when the sourness of scammy poor quality goods remain.
  • Ann Marie Vadala Daddabbo

Actually, 3000 for the small order of cabinets was not too good to be true. Especially since they were ready to assemble. But anyway, it doesn't make it rightfir a company to constantly change company names and scam.......

When averages for kitchen cabinets are 15-20k for a middle of the road remodel, yes it's too good to be true. 3 k isn't even an average master bath. Valuing a cheap price over quality leaves you vulnerable to scammers.
  • Ann Marie Vadala Daddabbo

Yes...we spent 20,000 , on our remodel ....my husband is a carpenter and I am an artist, faux finisher/ muralist. . We planned on altering them and customizing them so in reality, the interior boxes are what we were wanting, we did a cost analysis of the interior product needed to create the square bases and the cost to have someone else do the 'slop' work and have everything cut down to size.....it was reasonable option at the time of a busy remodel...I am aware of the quality verses price. However I did expect to receive a product upon purchase.. Thank you for your professional opinion though. I am sure all the others who trusted in websites and reviews and ads (such as on Houzz) feel bad enough as it is. I think that most of the other people's posts are trying to achieve a solution to stop this company from doing the same to others. It still does not make it right for anyone to be allowed to scam and steal others.

  • _sophiewheeler

Not 20k on a remodel. 20k just on cabinets. Average kitchens are around 55k. Average upper level kitchen 110k. Average Houzz level kitchen is well north of that.

We gave up trying to get our money back after several promises that "The check is in the mail" by way of the BBB. Then they sent us a fake Chase electronic payment which of course never came. We also found the People Ferret page on Frank Lamark. We realized that we were probably never going to see our money again and decided to try to at least get something for our money. At about the same time the Illinois AG finally had contacted ShopRTA on our behalf. ShopRTA sent our first shipment a couple weeks later and we got them 8/26 and then heard nothing for quite a while. We finally received the 2nd half of our cabinets about 10/30. We are so glad that the miserable drawn out experience is over. I wish all of you the best of luck and I hope that others will heed our warnings and not have to go through what we all did.

    Hi Kim,

Have you seen the flurry of positive "reviews" on Trustpilot in approx. the last week? I see that ShopRTACabinets responded to your review saying only that the cabinets had been shipped. Could you add an addendum there about how you had to go through the AG to get any resolution?

  • Kim Bourgeault

I have. I was thinking the numerous positive reviews were probably not authentic, especially since I have been "investigating" ShopRTA since June 2014 when our cabinets failed to show up. Someone else on ComplaintsBoard made a similar observation about ShopRTA pulling their Houzz profile due to complaints. I did appreciate that I did not get another "The Customer is INCORRECT" on Trustpilot like I have gotten used to seeing on the BBB and review sites. I think a better response would be, "We are very sorry for the inconvenience, we are trying to fix the problems". If that were the case, I think many of ShopRTA's customers would have hope things were actually being corrected.

I too was ripped off by Frank. I don't know if this will help but I turned him in to the FTC and FBI and state attorney general. I them googled internet fraud and the Federal department of justice came up Frank is guilty of mass marketing fraud. On there website they have a fraud main switchboard number I plan to call next week. I am also going to call the Chicago FBI and the Illinois governors office of citizens assistance. Also there is the national fraud information center. I am going to call all of them. I have little hope of getting my money back just want to stop the guy from robbing others. It said on the DOJ website that the state attorney general did not have much power to shut him down. This crime is punishable by 20 years in prison or 250,000 dollars in fines or both. Good luck all.

In spite of the fact that Shop RTA Cabinets, Inc. has not been accredited by the Better Business Bureau, the BBB has given the company a rating of F and there is an alert about the company on the BBB website. I would tread carefully, folks.

I wonder if this comment will disappear too?

Edited to add: I find it interesting that Anglea/Angela misspelled her name above and has no other comments, ideabooks, or any other involvement on this website.

Do not go near this business they are rip off artists. Just google the owner Frank Lamark to see what type of business this is. He sets up websites to sell cabinets but you never get them or a refund.

    Hi ispoildogs!

To address your comment. I was hired to address any and all customer service related issues good or bad. Since we sell over 10,000 orders a year it can become a daunting task to keep up with all issues especially as complex as a cabinet company where so many things can go wrong from a incorrect cabinet being shipped to a damaged cabinet. So are doing our best to keep up with the growing demand customers have with our RTA Cabinets.

We will never delete any comment because we are a strong believer in letting the customers know that no company is peaches and cream. We struggle with the same issues like any other company dose whether online or in a retail brick and mortar store.

PS. I dont have any idea books, comments on houzz for I just started with the company to address customer service issues in a faster time frame and make a quick resolution to all issue. Hope this helps address your questions :)

    Hi nanabarbie!

To address your customer related issue. Are you an existing customer ? If so please email me asap and I can address your question immediately.

Again I was hired to address all customer service related issues so please email me at customerservice at shoprtacabinets.com and I will respond asap.

We are a growing company with over 432 independent commercial retail stores carrying our product all over the USA and Canada and also selling over 10,000 + orders every year to retail customers. We face great challenges in keeping up with the demand for our customers and we promises to do our best to address these issues in the upcoming future!

I guess you could call me an existing customer I ordered cabinets April 17 2015 never got them or the refund promised. My order # was 200000458. I think this is a crock of crap but I will email you.

I had no questions. I was simply pointing out to the public that your company has a bad enough reputation with the BBB for them to have an alert on their website, even though you have not sought accreditation through them.

It sounds like more of the same. I was not refunded as she states in the above email. We gave up trying to get our money back after the fake Chase PDF we received tipped us off to how big a scam they are. We did eventually get our cabinets (in 2 orders months apart). ShopRTA has gone through many new customer service people since I placed my order. I think you should file as many complaints as you can. The Illinois AG sent me a letter saying they are looking into ShopRTA and that even though we did receive our cabinets I may be asked to testify, I would assume because they sent me a fake bank transaction that I forwarded to the Illinois AG. Keep the pressure on. ShopRTA should not be allowed to continue this scam.

Seven months ago I paid for kitchen cabinets which surprise surprise I never received, this company will not reply to emails / support tickets, my order has been shown as canceled since June but I have yet to receive a refund. Here are some avenues to complain since the BBB really doesn't help at all.

They are under investigation by the Illinois State Attorney Generals Office. If you too have been scammed go there and file a complaint. I also filed with the FBI Internet fraud department. They are still advertising on DIY channel on TV so I filed a complaint with the FCC about false advertising.

So disgusted that a company like this even exists.

Please do not order from them! It is just a scam! Any positive reviews you see was written by them as part of their scam! I order cabinets on September 20. No cabinets as of November 25th. I contacted them to cancel after 8 weeks and no response. I have emailed and left phone messages daily since November 16th confirming that I have cancelled my order and I want a refund. No response. Here are the signs I should have heeded: 1- You can't talk to a live person, ever. You can only leave a message or send an email. 2- They only accept full payment e-checks up front, no credit cards, which means you can't dispute with your card company to get your money back. Please, save yourself a headache and don't order at all from them!

I order cabinets back in March of 2015. I have been given a total run around told cabinets were on backorder then told that my check or money was being held by their bank. As of today my order has been cancelled on their website but I still have not received a refund of $2748 .75. Angela keep saying to email at Customerservice@shoprtacabinets.com. I have sent numerous emails and can not get a response over the last few months of my refund status. I submitted through AG but I will take your advice on the other places to submit a complaint for fraud.

June 2015 bought cabinets, still waiting for refund. Cabinets never shipped, told them we wanted a refund and they have stopped responding received a call from the Attorney General stating he was working with the company and have not heard back from him. Stay away from this company! Looking into starting an internet fraud claim and whatever else I can do. It seems with all these people out of money maybe a class action lawsuit should be filed. Someone needs to shut this company and it's owner down.

I finally got my refund but it took CONSTANT work on my part. I emailed every day and called the number on their website and left a message every day, for months. I filed complaints with the BBB, Illinois Attorney General, FBI internet crime, Federal Trade Commission, and left reviews on every consumer review site I could find. I found the owner's name, Frank Lamark, and called every number that could possibly be his. I eventually found a cell number that I think might be his. I called it and texted it every day until I got my refund. The number is 331-551-1131. Good Luck!

Unfortunately we fell prey to this scam also for thousands of dollars. We tried the usual routes like the B.B.B. and they can do very little. The BBB dropped the case after the cabinet company quit responding to them. The next point of recourse was to contact to Att. Gen. office. and file a claim. The Att. Gen. says that this company is in court right now because of failure to deliver and fraud. They advised me that before I would receive any monies from this company that all legal fee's prosecution costs etc. would be paid first, then if any funds are left maybe we would receive little if any funds. I kept all of my correspondence with this company and any other evidence I had in reguards to the fraud, and the Att. Gen. office said they may possibly contact me to forward such evidence so they may use it against the company. I will be more than glad to send anything they need to prosecute this fraudulent company.

I have a similar experience. I was promised a refund 8 months ago, and have yet to see a penny, despite the fact that I was told a check was in the mail on several occasions. I will believe it when I see it. In the meantime, I am looking at any other possible avenues of recourse. Unfortunately, the BBB Minnesota Attorney General's Office, and my local police department have not been effective.

They RIPPED us off! Here is the illegal 'refund' check. Now he's using a company called Cabinet Mania! http://www.cabinetmania.com/

Frank LaMark is a criminal and refuses to send the cabinets or your money back. He needs to make this right. How do you sleep at night Frank LaMark? Very well on other peoples hard earned money. right? Want this removed? Give me my money back!

Look at the spelling in this email Frank sent....unbelievable, and he was stating it was MY patience that is needed in this matter. After several contacts it's the customers fault. He NEVER shipped them out, nor made good on the NSF check 'refund' which was fake.

This is UNBELIEVABLE that this guy is still out there. I was scammed when I placed my order on May 20th, 2016 for $ 2622.04 at that time the website was called shoprtacabinets.com. I actually felt confident ordering from this company because I had once prior to this order. It had been a couple years but with the first order I received everything I paid for.

So I decided to order from the website again. This time I was not so lucky as I am still out the $2622.04. I posted on every site you could about the website. While stumbling across hundreds of complaints where others had been scammed out of thousands of dollars. How is this guy not in PRISON?!?! Why are we as consumers willing to just chalk up the thousands we are out as losses? Crazy Crazy!!
