I'd find a wood that matches closely & you could go anyway you want with seat covers... Your room is gorgeous btw!! I personally would pick a color so it wouldn't add to the paleness. But it's all up to your preference.

Rug under?? If this is a regular place to eat ... Yes! If there will be kiddos... Yes!! You can get those clear plastic protectors or a rug that includes the color of the cushions.

The table is gorgeous and I can see some beautiful upholstered chairs around this table. Nothing too heavy but possibly in your favourite colour - navy? green?... I would not use an area rug as it will always move around and look messy. I would suggest, if and when you have the funds and want to, putting hardwood floors down. But for now, just embrace the softness of the broadloom. For additional colour and texture, some full length side panels or curtains would look amazing in that space.

So I have added to my dining room with the table and chairs as well as curtains. Now for Christmas my parents will buy me a chandelier. Need help with what will look good on this space! Any suggestions? I also included the one in the hallway so you could see. The builder installed generic ones. I just had the hardwood installed within the last moth, there used to be carpet. I may paint soon too.

That is a beautiful sturdy table-type I like too, so they will need sturdy chairs too. You also have a great living space.
