Kitchen Design Survey: Which Layout Is Your Favorite?

Just for fun, I thought I'd ask my fellow Houzzers to weigh in on the layout for this not-so-huge kitchen in Westchester Co. Two proposed layouts are shown. The crux of the issue is whether to put the range on the sink wall, or the perpendicular wall. I have MY favorite...what about you? (Please keep in mind that walls, window location etc. cannot be moved. )

Option One: Range on sink wall

I vote for option #2 as well. Nice work triangle, can imagine working in this kitchen. Although the sink seems squeezed into the corner. Not much one can do with the window location.

My kitchen is similar to option 2 re: placement of window, sink, range and island/table and I love it. I cook and the layout works really well.

Sink is a standard element in my design program. We'd use a 30" wide sink. We cant get the sink much further out of the corner due to restrictions on moving the window. Thanks for your input everyone!

I don't like 2 I think I would rather not see the fridge when in this space rather enjoy the windows without the wall of fridge there.

I would go with No.2, though No.1 is also OK. Number 2 is like my own kitchen and the light coming in the window during the day helps light up my work space. However, if I had the money and this were my kitchen, I would take out the cabinet by the fridge, or make it a single and enlarge the window - but understand that cannot be done as window cannot be added.

Range should be on outer wall for venting? Also closer to sink for clean up

#1. I like the range near the sink. Fridge can be farther away because I'm not filling pots or carrying boiling water to drain. It does depend on how the individual likes to work, though.

It's always a better idea to have the cooking element closer to the fridge. Option 2 for me!
