When things you tuck into a pot kind of go nuts...

I received this lovely (and at the time much tinier) callisia fragrans from Purpleinopp :) I thought she and the rest of you may be interested to see it go nuts over the summer season. It began as about a 4" thing. It's now over a foot tall and about a foot and a half wide... with runners :) Also in the pot are my toad lilies and two sedums.

Hey that looks great! Hope you get a flower stalk this winter! This is fun, offhand...

Most of these plants fit that category, though pictured together, these are all very recent propagations, so haven't gone much of anywhere yet. Coleus, Tradescantia zebrina and fluminensis, Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender,' with Thanksgiving cactus, which isn't a slow-grower either.

Sweet potato vine (that I'm still in love with even after realizing I'm super-allergic to its' latex sap) goes nuts and is a great dangler, though this one is going up (same other guilty parties too, fast pot-fillers.)

Nice! I usually love these kinds of surprises. I am partial to a jungle though, as was evident in the recent begonia thread pics lol!

Oh me too, within a single pot! Here's Callisia repens I have to trim often so it doesn't overwhelm its' roommate, Easter cactus. Some of the wound-around pieces are several feet long. Did I send you some of this stuff?

The bridal veil (Gibasis geniculata) has really dark green leaves that are purple on the back, distant nodes, tiny white 3-petal flowers. This Callisia always has light green leaves, much fatter red stems, close nodes, is just starting to bloom, will take a pic in a few days, but you really have to be looking for it to notice. I'm sure you would have fun with this, and it's so small, I usually put a piece in every box, dunno why yours didn't have any.

I know I just put this pic in another discussion but it shows the bridal veil pretty well. It seems to be a lonely plant, not doing well on its' own but really happy like this. A lot of its' leaves look like they have a stripe from the camera flash but it's just a prominent vein. I have mixed results trying to propagate this, but it seems to have taken root in a lot of the holes I put in the sides of hanging pots. Sometimes I wonder if bending over the rim of a pot is a hardship for some of these creepers/danglers... although that doesn't seem to be bothering anybody in this pot (no holes in the sides of this one, totally not necessary!)

That's what i thought! Yeah, I don't have that one :) I love all of those kinds of plants. I guess we share that weakness lol!
