Hello folks,

I have been reading with interest the threads about Al's mix. I have been growing vegetables in containers for several years with mixed results, and I am keen to try this.

My question is about the lime. I found a bag of "pelletized dolomitic lime" in our shed which has been here since we moved in this house nearly six years ago. By the look of the bag it might even be quite a bit older than that. Does lime have a shelf life? It would seem to me to be an inert substance more or less but I was not sure. If I can use this lime that I have, that would be great as I have found the other ingredients!!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
