Need Lots of Stuff....

(plant spelling probably not correct)

Looking for decent sized trade... Something that will fill a Flat Rate Priority Mail Box

with the dimensions 11 7/8 x 3 3/8 x 13 5/8 These cost about $11.00. So, I would like to find a trade for most of these plants.

I also include as much of the root system and the attached soil as I can, as I think it eases transplanting stresses. I really like to recieve the same kind of treatment from my trader. Please let me know what you have....Looking for perennials...

I need alot of plants to replace those lost in 2007 due to the severe droughts we had in my area.

I lost about 70-80 percent of my plants. The plants I have to trade were tough enough to survive cold temps of zone 6 and a record drought.

Have for trade ...

2 large clumps of Rocket Lingulara (white, pink, purple or some variation of these),

3 small to med clumps of Campion (white, magenta or stripped unknown),

3 runners of Bee Balm (purple Monardia)

ALL Colors unknown. Could be mixes of the colors I have posted in parenthesis

THANK YOU

WANTs: Alexander Lysmachia, Pink Tall Evening Primrose ( have yellow) Orange Coneflower, Hearty Lavender, Hardy Purple Sage, Any Perennial Poppy, Red Bee-Balm, Daylily (let me know what colors- I have afew) Delphiniums, Clematis - Especially Yellow Radar Love , Low Growing Perennials, Bronze Grass, Shade loving or Sun loving Perennials, Perennial Yellow Foxglove, Stripped Tall Grass perennial, Coreopsis (pinks, reds or purples - no yellows)

    Hi Mdzone5,

I thought you might like to know there is no email link on your member page, thus no way to email you.

To set up your email link, just go to the bottom on any page here, and click on Member Pages
Then click on Edit your Personal Information, Page, and Preferences
You will then probably be asked to login in again.
Then check the box Allow other users to send you email via forms at our site.

That will place a link on your member page, making it handy for members (potential traders) to reach you in the future..

Another thought here. depending upon just where a member is located, a flat rate box is not always the most bang for one's postage buck.
Example, depending upon where a member is located, I can send a 19 LB box to someone close for less than $11.00.
10 LBS if a little farther
    6 LBS farther yet.
down to 3 LBS to the farthest member.

It might be something to consider. I don't usually respond to Flat Rate Offers, as they usually aren't the best value for me. I have a digital scale and that helps so much to determine the best value...flat rate or otherwise.

    Happy Gardening and trading.

    Hello Sue,

Thank You for the notice on the email problem.
I had not posted in a while and overlooked the fact I need to update.

About the Flat Rate...I must disagree with you. I too have a digital postage meter as we have a small business and shipping accuracy demands the need for one. We ship regularly and use UPS and USPS.

If I am shipping a smaller amount I do vary my shipping methods...but in this case the Flat Rate Priority is best as it is the same rate NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE. You can reverse zips all day and the rate stays the same.

Also...I can put upto 70 POUNDS IN THIS BOX for the $11.00.
If it fits in a box and not over 70lbs, it's covered.
With the added assurance these plants are only in COMMUTE 3 DAYS OR LESS. That alone is a huge positive for me. I get healthy plants FAST.

I do agree that some methods of shipping are better in certain situations....but from what I have to ship in this one...the $11.00 box PLUS THE ASSURANCE that these plants are only in commute FOR 3 DAYS verses the no assurance of
regular shipping is worth the difference.

For close by addresses... standard parcel rates still take 3-5 days and have been known to take upto 9 days because the mail, even if sent in the same area, has collection/sorting centers that it is rerouted to. In other words, you have no assurance of a 3 day or less delivery just because the zip code is closer to yours.

While I understand if someone else has different views this seems best for me.

    Thank you
