I removed a damaged silver maple from my backyard that shaded my patio. I would like to replace it with a river birch. Can I plant the birch in the same place where the maple grew? I used a stump grinder to remove the old stump and there are lots!! of wood chips mixed in the soil. How long should I wait to replant?
