Relative to concentricity and implication, I am considering something suggestive of a maze, but not a maze exactly, which would also provide curves.

Other concrete suggestions would be appreciated.

On your own eric. You are intent on bringing garden design to a level that makes sense to you so tell me what are the parameters? What we do this time is: you make the suggestions and I come in with the banality, you be the starter and I get to be the smart arse commentator. Can you do do it? Shall we wait for you to start something of interest or should we only wait for you to grace a concern with your superior but distant knowledge? Did you ever take a chance with a post of your own?

Ink, since that list of buzzwords you posted wasn't drawing any responses, I asked you how two of them would apply to garden design. That gave you a perfect opportunity to define what they (or any other of these concepts) mean to you.

The opportunity is still there, if you'd like to take the chance. Might be interesting.

Remember that these concepts are borrowed from a painter, I am suggesting that they can be adapted for our purposes: "Implication. Elements are suggestive or metaphoric." Drawing on natural elements to suggest a connection to a larger landscape or one scene in particular would be one way. "Concentricity. Elements circulate, extend and focus." Placing or planting things to keep the eye from wondering out of the frame would be my interpretation of this.

My eye wandered out of the frame when it came across all that lingo in one hard lump. Showing how each term relates or could relate would be helpful. Probably get the ball rolling here.
