have: at last!! sassafras berries! want any?

For whatever mysterious reason, we get Sassafras berries some years, not others. This year, lots and lots on one section of one tree right at the edge of the lane...so convenient, except for bramble roses.

This is native Sassafras albidum.

Husband (many thorn scratches) who collects can gather more, but wants to know whether anyone wants them...

so...

want to trade sassafras berries for your Z5 woodland perennials, named Daffs, YOUR woodland seeds to scatter, or ?

    Hi Pumkingal!

I have Joe Pye Weed, the very lovely tall wild hollow stem variety, and Cupid's Dart making lots of seed. Will check it's ripeness tomorrow. It's well over 95 degrees out there and we just came in.

Any other wild things you're looking for?

    Cheers

    Hi Barb,
I would love to have some of your sassafras seeds to plant on our farm. I'm not sure if I have anything on my list that will grow in zn5 but you could take a look.PLMK

    Hi Barb,

    Hello Barb.

I would like some sassafras seeds, but I don't have much to trade that you don't already have.

I have an unknown species of perennial poppy--blooms about 18-24" tall, foliage half that height, soft orange flowers.

Will soon have Iris chrysographes seeds--the pods are ripening.

For sassafras seeds, I'd be willing to trade 1-year seedlings of Nyssa sylvatica (black tupelo), American bladdernut, or Magnolia macrophylla (cucumber tree).
