Cabbage/coleslaw...no/yes?

15 years ago

{{gwi:94078}}

I have NO idea what I grew here...Some are just little guys. I think I had some seed packets from the Clinton years so i just seeded a row with them and this is what I picked... Any thoughts on if this should be coleslaw worthy or do I need to cook it somehow. I've never grown cabbage before...go easy on me.

So as long as it forms a head i'm good to go? I really wasn't sure. It hasn't exactly been warm here the past 6 weeks (we hit 100F twice) ...i had an idea that it might not taste right.

Is it best to refrigerate? I'll probably slice it up tonite.

That is a huge cabbage.

I'd shred all of those but the runt. But the largest one definitely looks firm enough to make a good coleslaw.

In general cabbages with round hard heads make good slaw. Pointy head varieties not so good. So if your heads are hard, go for it.
