Can you bag peaches like apples?

    Scott, based on what you wrote above, I assume you didn't have a problem with the squirrels eating through the bags? I lost most of my ripe footie-bagged peaches last year to either squirrels and/or raccoons. I assumed that raccoons did at least some of the stealing due to amount of damage to a few of the trees (it also could have been deer). I'm going to give the cotton bags a try, but I'm picturing a raccoon at night hanging from my trees with a bagged peach tied to a bending and about to break branch in his paws. I was wondering whether a light spray of hot pepper or bitrex on the outside of the bag a few weeks before ripening would prevent this possibility without affecting the flavor of the peach?
